Qualities

The player comes up with the topic talks to plot, plot then comes up with the specifics. Like "I want to know some sort of powerful knowledge about KFC" and we would say "Well, they used to be Kentucky Fried Chicken, but then they genetically engineered food animals that could not actually be described as chicken, and so changed their name. Coincidentally, that was the same year Chick N. Masterson and his many tragically deformed brothers formed the popular band 'Born to be Feed'."

Wait, there's a person called Molly? ... ... ...

O_O DESTROY ALL HUMANS. Wait, what's going on?!

Question about an Advantage:
One Percenter: 1, 3, or 6 CP. May not be taken by the Protean or Psychics. The character is from a very wealthy family, or has amassed considerable personal wealth. Level 1: The character receives 5 Credits every session. Level 2: the character receives 10 Credits every session. Level 3: The character receives 20 Credits every session. It is recommended that this money be used at least in part to pay for the character's upkeep. Twist Points: 1, 2, or 3, by level.
If you can only gain +5 CP from stuff, and can only buy Qualities at the start, why did Staff choose to do a cost of 6 CP for the last level of One Percenter instead of 5CP?

Might be a hint that Credits will be very useful.
There is no rule that says you have to offset Qualities CP's with Hindrances. I'm actually planning on 8 CP worth of advantages and no Hindrances at all because of the Twist point total cap.
Interestingly enough, there is exactly one advantage that doesn't have Twist points, Hand Sanitizer. I guess it cleaned itself off
I also have a feeling that Turbulent Mind will be popular. The most CP for the least Twist points.

I was the one over her shoulder when we were talking about one percenter, and I thought she had worded her post differently. What she meant was, we were under the impression you could only buy 5cp worth of qualities and that particular one is worth 6cp.

The only Caps I know of are Hindrances (Max of 5 CP gained) and Twist points (Max of 5 again).
Let me check....

Ah Ha, found it
Characters may have no more than 5 Twist Points and may not gain more than 5 CP from Qualities.
You can spend as many as you want, just can't gain more than 5

Lol, Ok. Will try to simplify.
"One Percenter" as an advantage. It costs CP to buy it. (20CP - 6CP = 14CP left)
Hindrances give you CP for taking them. Take Addiction for example.
The first level of addiction gives you CP for taking it and it's possible consequences (20CP + 2CP = 22CP)
The most CP you can gain is 5CP from Qualities so (20CP + 5CP = 25CP) Maximum
But, You could take more Advantages, because they subtract CP, not add it. You can always spend more.

The real difficulty comes from Twist points. They have a max of 5 and Advantages, Hindrences and Complications all add Twist points.

If I get the correct Idea for your character, you plan on having Addiction Level 2.
That would mean that your starting CP of 20 would go up to 23 and your Twist points, which start at 0 go up to 2
If you wish to take One Percenter, You could take the Level 3
That would mean that your 23 Cp would be reduced to 17 CP and your Twist points would max out at 5
You wouldn't be able to take any more hindrences or complications because your twist points are now maxed out. You could still take the Advantage: Hand Sanitizer, spend 4 more CP because that advantage does not add any Twist points

Strange inheritance is the best quality. I might end up getting it again, because hey, what could possibly go wrong (so many things)
(Lost Eidolons) Sir Gilliam Stardust II- You were right all along! Inside the box was another, smaller box.
(Occam's Razor) Maxwell Schmitt- Do you wanna build a robot?
