It is the day after Thanksgiving, and Billy St. Francis stops by the Triple A Diner with a plastic bag rustling on his arm. He heads directly towards the area wherein Professor Challenger's booth has typically stood, pausing only a moment to consider it with a faint chuckle. He shakes his head at his thoughts, pushing them aside. He sets down the bag on the chair for the usually reserved for the patients, and begins pulling out paperbacks for the lender library.
He adds to it a few small chapterbooks salvaged from Boston's literary scene, before pulling aside a battered and worn paperback with some... very disturbingly strange cover art. That one, he carries over to a booth nearby, setting it down before fetching himself a cup of coffee. He leaves behind a five dollar bill for Flo, and carries the coffee over to the booth table. He gives it a light blow to cool it, then takes a seat.
Billy lifts up the book, and begins reading it with some intent. The title: "The Best of H. P. Lovecraft: Bloodcurdling Tales of Horror and the Macabre". Just a little light reading, apparently.
