"Any time," Kelsey said to V quietly. She frowned at the further threats. "Please," she said, the words meant for both of them. "We have better things to fight than each other."
She nodded absently to Leslie as he walked on. "Yeah," she replied half-heartedly. "Nice seeing you, too."
The medic ignored Lou's attempts to wave her off and knelt down on the ground next to him, setting to work. She didn't know what to say that hadn't already been said. But keeping silent as she bandaged him up was too awkward. "You're a mess," she commented, smiling to soften the words. "Not that there's anyone in this town who isn't."
