victor's eyes lit up. "i'm like a cat!" she exclaimed, and promptly gnawed the mouse's head off. she watched the professor's back with admiration.
she was sorely tempted to chase hana, as an idea involving both her and leslie was absolutely guaranteed to be a good one, but gondorf's words captured her attention.
"another ice age..," she blinked slowly, as if waking up, turning her thoughts from whatever track they'd been on to the matter at hand. "worse than that. and even i know that would be no good. these guys are.. i think nature would just go away. that's what i think. no summer. no winter. no spring or fall. no humans. no demons. no fey or anything else. just black. nothing. that's it."
she looked terribly sad, an emotion that looked sort of odd on victor, and it only enhanced the ebbing and flowing effect of unfamiliarity wrought in her changed features.
then her teeth sparkled again, eyes half shut in the smug fashion of a cat, reinforced by the end of a mouse-rump and tail hanging from her mouth. she was unmistakably the victor jones they knew and (if they were smart) loved.
"typewriter guy! yeh, that was neat. i wrote a story too.."
she trailed off, thinking. "i wonder if me and leslie are gonna get a million dollars? we really need that money for the awesome party we're gonna have, you guys can come."
..but just save your words as we walk on by
with the sky full of birds and the dusk approaching
climb the long grassy track to the top of winter hill
climb the real rocky track to the top, i'll see you back
i'll see you back on winter hill
