Goooooood Morning Whisper Hill!!!

This is your pre-event weather report with up to the (I check this periodically) forecast!
Good news is that we’ll be above freezing for the entire duration so that should make sleeping less hazardous, the bad news is that we’ll be seeing showers for opening of game, let’s head over to Tom for the daily!

Thank you Tom! Here is your day to day forecast.

Friday’s high of 63 and low of 46 will end up a good start. However the day will be Cloudy with a 70 % chance of rain in the evening it can be expected to be rather unpleasant. If you can, find your cabins set your stuff up and help Monster camp get out of the rain! We’ll all be wet and gross soon enough but after Game-On is always better.

We dry out on Saturday, it will be colder, but sunny day at a high of 56 with little to no chance of precipitation. However an overnight low of 35 will require special care. Hypothermia is a constant concern for early season games (or just awful years where we give the Dusk Court control.) Moon is about half-full, so seeing at night shouldn’t be too bad.
Sunday is clear and a high of 63. So we’ll warm up around game’s end and clean up should be in good weather. No big concerns here as we wrap up and return home sadder and more sore than before.

For the majority of us who’ve been here in spring we know what we’re in for. I would assume we’ll be seeing plenty of snow and mud. Good footwear is a must here as well as constant vigilance for hypothermia. Cool temperatures plus wet conditions are a rough mix and we need to take care of each other here.

Animals are roaming about, don’t bother them, feed them, or attempt to charm them for their ancient deer secrets. This also means ticks are active looking for warm mammals to feast on, we’re their taco buffet I assume so be mindful.
That about wraps up my report, you can follow the inevitable changes here

http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/l/USNH0108:1:US I assume there will be slight changes
as we close in on the weekend so check the link and update as you see fit.
Can’t wait to see you all!

As is becoming my habit in cold weather games, I will be bringing something on the order of 40 magic heat packs, also known as Hot Hands hand warmers. These are smallish packets (about the size of the palm of your hand) that heat up once you shake them, and stay warm for at least 18 hours after (and often last longer.) They're great for putting in your gloves, pockets, etc. to help keep you warm.

40 is way more than I'll manage to use myself over the weekend, so if you're cold and would like some packets of magic heat, just ask! The bulk of them will live in my cabin, but I always carry extras around in Kelsey's medical bag.

Likewise, I stuff a bunch of them in Sally's various pouches and belts and such, so don't hesitate to ask if we're on the field. I don't use the things myself, I'm just an effective pack mule.

Hand warmers are for more than just hands, people. Sandwich them between layers on your torso and you're good to go--it changed my experience from "slowly freezing to death" to "Occam's Razor Event 1."

And here, I thought "Laying flat on my back in the snow in a long-sleeve T-shirt and a tac. vest" was how to stay warm.

Thermacare packs. All the thermacare packs.

I've heard they are good. Myself I'm an underarmour fan.
