Building Electrical

Building Electrical

Postby Chloe » Mon Mar 09, 2015 11:03 pm

I'm thinking of bringing a guitar to game to plink away on in my downtime.

I'm trying to decide between my acoustic and my electric. I assume an acoustic is no issue, for the electric I have a couple questions. I'll be bringing headphones to eliminate/minimize noise pollution.

1) Does the main building's electrical support a 15W practice amp? Are there available outlets?
2) Is this just a bad idea in general? (e.g, the main building is frequent combat space with no safe storage?)

I saw another guitar around before. I think I saw it fall over and thunk on the floor multiple times, sometimes I was able to save it, most times the guitar was accross the room and I couldn't =/

When I tried to put the guitar in the guitar case close by (because I thought it would be a nice thing to do) I had 3 nerf guns fall on my foot. Whooops! hahaha.

I mean as long as you are careful and you secure it well when you arent using it I don't see any breaking issues in your future. But any combat in the tavern usually sees its' fair share of casualties...mostly plates and bottles from tables.

My opinion: I would go along with the larping mantra I hear all the time, don't bring it if you aren't willing to loose it.

As far as outlets: there are normally outlets every table or three in the main 'Tavern' area. The outlets by the jukebox are normally full. But in the front entry way (Where the Professor sits) there are usually numerous openings on that side. That would prob be the best bet for electrical source.

Hi -

There is a decent amount of combat in the 'diner' - not tons but enough that I wouldn't bring anything I care about breaking in-game. And there is no real designated safe zone for storing anything - Cathy has a table set away from a wall that seems to make a buffer zone, but she'd have to weigh in on whether that table gets shoved around during the event. (p.s. - tables are fairly lightweight boards on top of saw horses - not sturdy *at all*)

For myself - I wouldn't bring an amp in, especially, and I'd be leery of bringing the guitar.

Also - I can't weigh in on the electrical. I'm betting staff would have to check with the camp for the exact amperage supported. I do know we can't have electric heaters, only electric blankets, so that may speak to the amperage allowed (electric blanket = 2 or 3 amps; space heater = around 12.5).

There'd also be the jukebox to contend with.

Hank, Darkness Rest His Soul, was frequently seen with his acoustic guitar and nothing bad ever happened to it *shrugs* While there is infrequent combat inside the diner, it's not more than I've seen other places (and less than Shadows, for example). I've never seen anything broken and we have several non-cheap electronics that are littered around (like the computers that run Amizon). Things shoved under tables are rarely disturbed, even in combat situations, and I don't think I personally have ever seen serious combat make it to the center of the room.

I have no idea on the electricity.
If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night
Calling out for the rope, sent by and we will
Watch the flames burn on and on the mountain side hey

Word. I'll probably bring the acoustic for simplicity's sake, I have a decent case, and it's a really old starter anyway, so I'm not terribly concerned if something happens to it.

Thanks y'all.
