This is shaping up to be an excellent little exercise in practice.

So, would folks want to practice as their own builds and or try out the other side of the Header Fence and see what avenues are open?

Or, even, try current builds with further advancement, just to see how it plays out? As Sally, I know I'm torn between just powering up my current stats and adding another Header, so others might be at that same conundrum.

And, might people have any inclination to do this within the near future (the coming weeks)?

So, from previous experiences, I'd say a mix of all three and just set an arbitrary CP limit for the advancement. For example, folks can prepare:

1. Build as for next event as your current PC.
2. Build as a New Character at starting (50), i.e. if you retired a new char and couldn't keep your current CP.
3. Build as for this year's CP cap (85) for either a New or Current Character
4. Build as a New Character/Current at 100CP

This way we can set group fights as either current, end of the year, or far future CP levels and keep participants in the same range of each other so you can get a feel of how a build falls in effectiveness compared to your fellow PCs. It also means that folks don't HAVE to make crazy builds if they don't want to since only the last level of CP really puts you that much ahead (stats get expensive quickly). For weapons, I should have a decent selection, though I might leave most of my guns at home since they're painted and might spook the passersby. Though I might just grab an unpainted AT instead since most of my build is centered around gunning.

That all sounds good to me. I definitely want to be able to try out things beyond my current build - Kelsey's not meant for combat, and she probably won't be entering it except to drag out the wounded.

...though, getting practice doing silly things to pull the wounded off the battlefield could also be fun.

As I live nowhere near the Metro Boston area I am incredibly jelly and wearing my cranky pants (my pouty pants went out of style when I was 5).

I hope you all have a great time and don't find any gopher holes. Yep, definitely hope you don't find any gopher holes.

LoL, you may have to dodge all the people playing Ingress (A cell phone game). They are having an East Coast event there today

You'll be happy to know that we were able to Conquer this Ingress mess with the greatest of ease.

(... okay, we never saw them, but our group of Whisper Hill Squatters managed to have a great freakin' time.)

As with everything OR-related, it was a blast. We'll try another one as long as we got these long days and pleasant nights in the coming weeks!
