Just to note, under negotiator Legalese has no CP cost associated.

I am assuming it is 3 cp just like under suit

Dang you, Jacob! Dang you to heck!
You need to stop adding so many interesting new specializations.
It is numerically impossible to create a starting character with 8 different headers and 6 different specializations under three seperate genres

All you need is 2 accounts and 2 computers. Wait... that only works in MMOs doesn't it...
the double modifier applies to the next qualifier, so that a "double 2 damage and silence" is the same as being hit with 2x 2 damages and 1x silence. To get the dual double you have to say both. At least that is how rob told me it worked.
Ok, so next question. How does this apply to defenses?

So in Accelerant based systems, X and Y by Z effects, if I can resist Z does one resist stop the whole effect? Or do I need to use it twice to stop the whole thing?

If it was one attack, like I hit you once with a boffer weapo and call "5 Damage and Stun by Poison" and you can resist poison, you only need to call Resist once.

In theory, if I pick up a point of Intrinsic Research, could I research how to at least read old languages?

Research skills are meant to answer in-game questions, not mimic other skills which cost CP.

Let's hope none of those advanced grimoires are written in Heiratic or Sinitic then, Madrigus

As it was explained to me each element of the phrase must be resisted separately. For example a triple 2 damage takes up 3 calls. I would imagine since all you are doings is adding multiple elements to one call then each element must be negated with a separate defense. This has been my experience in both Madrigle and Mirror Mirror.

"Double" or "triple" should be interpreted as "You have been hit by 2 or 3 separate attacks." As such, you need to counter with 2 or 3 defenses, as appropriate. In contrast, "Chained effects" are multiple effects stemming from a single attack. You may counter the underlying attack to counter all effects, or you may counter each effect individually. To whit:
For example, a spider calls out "Drain and Slow by Poison" and hits a player with a packet. The defense "Resist Poison" would negate the entire attack. The defense "Resist Slow" would negate the Slow effect, but the character would still be affected by the Drain effect. If the character had both "Resist Slow" and "Resist Drain" defenses then both could be used to negate the effects of the attack.
--Accelerant Core Rules v. 5.3, "Verbal Modifiers," "Chained Effects"
