As it was explained to me each element of the phrase must be resisted separately. For example a triple 2 damage takes up 3 calls. I would imagine since all you are doings is adding multiple elements to one call then each element must be negated with a separate defense. This has been my experience in both Madrigle and Mirror Mirror.
"Double" or "triple" should be interpreted as "You have been hit by 2 or 3 separate attacks." As such, you need to counter with 2 or 3 defenses, as appropriate. In contrast, "Chained effects" are multiple effects stemming from a single attack. You may counter the underlying attack to counter all effects, or you may counter each effect individually. To whit:
For example, a spider calls out "Drain and Slow by Poison" and hits a player with a packet. The defense "Resist Poison" would negate the entire attack. The defense "Resist Slow" would negate the Slow effect, but the character would still be affected by the Drain effect. If the character had both "Resist Slow" and "Resist Drain" defenses then both could be used to negate the effects of the attack.
--Accelerant Core Rules v. 5.3, "Verbal Modifiers," "Chained Effects"
