I'm a total noob to the Site and Forums but if I could add myself to the wait list for Adventure Day 2 I'd love to get a chance to get down and play.

If you go to the Database and create a character, you can add yourself under manage events.

She has the right of it--all such registrations and management are done through the CDB, accessible from the main site. Once you're logged into the forums you should be able to log into the CDB (Character Database) and sign the waiver, create a character, sign up for events, etc.
