Questions regarding Double Tap skill for Hitman specialization:
How does a double tapped shotgun work? does it double just the first projectile (per shotgun rules) like you shoot twice from the same barrel and once from the other or does it double both projectiles?
Does Double Tap work with the Heavy Weapon's Specialist specialization, such as Machine Gun, which allows you to use a machine gun that deals 6 damage per projectile instead of the rifle: dart 5? If it would affect Machine gun base damage would it affect the other aspects listed and/or the other heavy weapons?
Thanks!
The Rule Text quoth: Just to make sure. You may spend E to add "Double" to an attack made with a firearm. This skill cannot be combined with any other skill that modifies the attack.
Question the First: Typically, when we say "an attack", it means a singular attack and not all the damage bursting forth from a weapon. For this, a shotgun would do "Double 2 Damage, 2 Damage.". It also makes sense, given the nature of two (or more if it's pellets) projectiles being hurled forth from the shotgun.
Question the Second: So, Hitman also says "This skill cannot be combined with any other skill that modifies the attack.". Any heavy weapons proficiency is a Skill that is purchased and used. Other weapons are not. So, you couldn't use this ability with Heavy Weapons of any kind. Plus, it gets us out of those awkward moments when we have PCs double-tapping with an RPG or sniper rifle.
The flavor of the skill is a professional hitman finishing off a target. We envision a pistol, but realistically, any firearm you can natively use works as well.
