Slamfire is the NERF name for something known as autofire that some modern shotguns have. Essentially what you do is hold the trigger down, and then work the weapons action (such as a pump on a shotgun). This lets you produce a incredibly impressive rate of fire, but accuracy suffers since you're jerking the weapon around.

It's usually only good for supressive fire, and that dubious combat tactic of "spray and pray".

It's not a technique useful for Occam's Razor, due to making every shot cost an attribute. However, for other games, where spraying Nerf into the air and hoping it will hit someone is a viable strategy, slamfiring can be a useful technique.

As of Thursday, Amazon now has these for order (after being "Out of Stock" for the last two weeks). I gave myself a deadline of today (Friday). If they weren't available, I was just going to pick up the "boy" version (Hammerstrike) at Target this weekend.

Awesome.

Hammerstrike is cool and all, but the Sweet Revenge color scheme matches my Sailor Moon tattoo, and a boy must really coordinate these things.

Just as a warning the new Zombie strike stuff sold at target has been getting terrible reviews for distance and accuracy. It's really not that hard to paint some of the regular stuff to look reasonably gun like and less blue/orange generic colors.

I can confirm that they have the Nerf Rebelle series (all of them) on the shelves at Toys 'R Us just north of the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua.
Bought my "Sweet Revenge" kit today. Gave the glasses to a friend and tested out the gun.
Not going to make any claims on how far and accurate it is (Because I'm not. So not a fair test)
The gun does cock and fire very easily one-handed for me. I have rather large hands. Those with smaller hands may have a time reaching the cocking hammer. All in all, I love the size and feel.
The "holster" is just a bonus. It's really just a plastic clip that holds the gun, but I'm ok with that. Will probably be clipping it to my messenger bag strap anyways.

Might be more effort than it is worth but:

A good set up to spray guns: Grab a cheap storage bin, a metal hook anchor with a nut, and a metal clip with a rotating clip. Stick the metal hook through the bin, secure the nut in place, Slip the metal clip on the hook. Now you can hook your blaster of choice on and start spraying. When done you can let leave it hanging to air dry without worry about messes and leaving fingerprints in drying paint.

Note: know the size of the bin and the blaster. And of course Avoid rounded tubs. Learn from my mistakes.

I have to ask in all seriousness: Has some one here traded a vital part of their metaphysical being to usher in a new wave of Nerf products?
