Girl guns

Last night I managed to wrangle a couple Nerf Rebelle Sweet Revenge kits out of the (very nice and helpful) staff at my local Target.

The Target website lists them as being in stock basically everywhere, but at least at my local store, they're not on the shelves yet (the employees expect them to be stocked with the test of the Nerf blasters) and the store has them marked as discontinued. So your mileage may vary, but when I asked, the saleslady went and brought out all the kits they had, sold me a couple and stocked the rest on the shelves.

The gun is pretty sweet. Basically the same as the hammershot, but a little more streamlined and a lot less orange. The holster actually looks like it could be used in a larp, but I haven't tested it extensively. I'm a bit sad to have to paint over the wing design though; the gun is pretty.

All and all, a very respectable attempt on Nerf's part to broaden their market to the other half of the human race.

I'm gonna get that for my wife's sidearm. It's totally awesome. I wish guy guns came with neato designs.


Maybe I'll get my own and paint the pink parts black.

You got a bit lucky, Madrigus. As far as I can tell, the official release date for that isn't until September 1st. The clerk probably didn't know that. I was thinking of getting a Hammershot, but I may grab one of these instead. I don't need the tactical rail that the Hammershot has, I like the little more streamlining and the holster is a good bonus. Will just need to paint it a basic color scheme.

Can you slamfire either the Sweet Revenge or the Hammershot? I am curious, as if you can, it certainly makes fanning a suddenly applicable skill.

And that would be awesome.

Also, I am totally picking up one of those at some point in the near future.

Found some of these at Kmart and Toys R Us in NH and MA. They're pretty slick.

The sweet revenge for whatever reason doesn't have the dart detectors, so when it is fired the hammer returns to start. You can slamfire it, but the range decreased dramatically. Also, it's a bit hard on the hand. Gloves help.
