File 3
what the hell does that mean?
Well, clearly it means that the owls are not what they seem, and likely that some serious things went down. November Contingencies are all the cold of winter without the holiday cheer of December.

Thanks,

I don't think anyone typed out the actual genetic code, no. Or if they did, they kept it to themselves and didn't share with the rest of the class.

And to be completely clear, I'm pretty sure that File 3 translates into:
not what they seem.

The owls are not what they seem.

The owls are not what they seem.

The owls are not what they seem.

Signature detected. Right Ascension 22h 57m 39.0465s. Declination -29 degrees 37' 20.050''. Initiate November Contingency.

The owls are not what they seem.

The owls are not what they seem.

The owls are not what they seem.

The owls are [/list:u]

It took two of us several dedicated hours and a great deal of frustration, but I'm pretty sure that's it.

Also, I hate these DNA puzzles.

Yes, I typed it out as a ODT the first day it came out. It took a few tries to make sure I typed it all correctly (And I'm still not sure a typo or two didn't get past the proofreading)

As for "Translating" it

Thank you, sir. If this be correct, what hair I have left thanks you, as I won't have to be pulling that out. I was having no luck with my efforts

Is a direct reference to "Twin Peaks". I believe it was said several times

Sounds like directions. November contingency may be a hint for a November event day???
The first file puzzle hid the first event's date and location

Right ascension and Declination are astronomical terms for the two direction coordinates of a point on the celestial sphere in the equatorial coordinate system (Star map?)

Well, so much for the DNA code angle.

Hmmmm, I wonder what the significance of this star is.

I know that there's a planet orbiting Alpha Centauri that will play host to some humans in about 1200 years, but that's a story for another day.

And if anyone was curious, if you take the coordinates and just go by the numbers you end up in the middle of the sea about 800km off the New England Coast. So either there is a first contact situation happening *please plot Gods don't go the route of Contact* or Rhylle is rising and we all need to by mountaineering gear.

At this point, I think the brush is so thick that even figuring out what it is not helps out.

Well, the Fomalhaut system has been called the "Eye of Sauron" system for it's resemblance

Fomalhaut b is the first extrasolar orbiting object to be seen with visible light. A companion planet with an extremely eccentric orbit and characteristics.

It's the "mouth" of the constellation called "the Southern Fish"

It is one of the four key stars in the heavens, also called archangel stars.
Michael (Aldebaran) watcher of the East.
Gabriel (Fomalhaut) watcher of the South.
Raphael (The Healing Archangel (Regulus) Watcher of the North.
Oriel (Antares) Watcher of the West.

November Contingency? Uh oh. Someone screwed up, someone screwed up bad... Yeah that area on the coordinates? Its um not there anymore, call it an intuition.
