Ok, the recent crash of my hard drive and the subsequient loss of my Favorites list made me think hard of missing websites I had saved because they had cool costuming ideas.

I know that many of you out there probably have similar links that you've found over the years or favorite places that have done good work for you.

Let's use this thread to spread the information. Cool stuff you've found, Cheap items that work, Good craftsmen that make sturdy material.

Go!

I'll start with a few of mine

Thinkgeek get's an eclectic assortment of geek type items. They carry a holster made to fit a NERF maverick pistol, among other things. But the coolest item I want to get if I ever play a Cyborg would be
http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/ef56/? ... ga%20stomp

It's a sound effects box that makes your walking and movements sound like one of 9 things, a robot, a zombie, a monster, gunslinger, Rainy day splashing

Next

I have a lot of good luck with Threads of Time
They make various types of period clothing, Steampunk as well as Medieval/Fantasy

Rave/Goth and Crinoline and a TARDIS Skirt, oh my!

http://www.etsy.com/shop/mtcoffinz
http://www.etsy.com/shop/mtcoffinzunderground <-- two shops, with some different items. More for chicks than dudes, but dudes can find nice stuff there, too.

Also, I Kick Shins for amazing hair stuff: http://www.ikickshins.net/

More as I dig things out.

Adam gave me this one. Bit anachronistic for this game, but hey, some people are weird like that for realsies. http://www.garbtheworld.com/

Cool, Madrigus. You never know what type of accent piece might be important for a character
(And you can never go wrong with kilts)

Here is another really cool site I have used multiple times for a variety of game genres.

http://www.thevikingstore.co.uk/

Huge variety of real stuff, fantasy, medieval, modern, et. They got some pretty awesome The Matrix and Equilibrium style Trench Coats and the like.

Hi:

One of my favorite resources is The Costumer's Manifesto - www.costumes.org.
It has ideas, historical references (which are links to other sites including museum ones), and also how-tos. One-stop-shopping.

This is a decent site for clothing. Some of their items are a little pricey.

Commence link bombardment!

http://www.nighteyes.cc (They used to sell theatrical lenses with prescriptions, but stopped selling them that way. )

http://www.fanplusfriend.com/servlet/th ... Categories (I have bought so many things from here, and I will probably keep buying from them. So many coats!)

http://www.rivithead.com/ (Best place I've found for cool shoes and boots. They also have a lot of other stuff too though.)

http://www.artificeclothing.com/em/shop ... efault.asp (Predominantly women's wear, but you can find unisex stuff too.)

http://www.findcoolclothes.com/ (Were going out of business, but are now back online with new ownership.)
