Rules Questions

So, I was wondering, how are we pronouncing "Rappaccinian?" I've heard it pronounced a couple of ways and I assumed that I had been pronouncing it correctly but I've been wrong before. I considered that "Rappaccini's Daughter" is an Italian story, and in Italian "cc" is "ch" and "i" is "ee" so I figured it would be pronounced "Rappacheeneean." I wanted to hear Plot's version.

re: Skinwalkers

1) If I choosing to wear my hand and arm coverings for a skill like "Put the Bite on" must I only wield the claw rep?
Yes. Your hand is no longer a hand, it is a limb for rending and tearing. Or opening videogame controller boxes, because seriously. Those damn things... Anyway. You may manipulate objects in a simple fashion (we won't make you lose the ability to open a door, for example), but you cannot wield ranged or other melee weapons. And as a reminder: unless a skill specifically grants you the ability to duel wield, you may not duel wield. Wield 1 Long + Wield 1 Long = Wield 1 Long a lot, not Wield 2 Long.
2) For "The Pack" Is it possible for multiple skinwalkers to have the same "Pack" from the get go?
I am not sure there's a way for us to regulate this, but the spirit of the skill is to allow a small group to function well, not indoctrinate a whole slew of people. A pack is meant to be a small, tightly knit crew, rather than a way of buffing the town. Let's say that while you are technically allowed to have a pack of say, 16, we're also technically allowed to call "BMV, Frenzy to <Pack Trait>" as often as we want, so... <shrug> Up to you.
3) Is a "Fetish" item a "magic" item for craft-able purposes, or are "fetish" items non-craft-able?
The production system is still in the works, but at the present time fetishes cannot be crafted by PCs (unless you count "Fetish Weapon," but that's actually a skill rather than a transferable item).

Does that answer your questions?

<lots of words>

If I'm understanding you correctly, the answer to the question I think you are asking is that unless a skill (required or otherwise) says that you cannot use defenses you may use defenses.

Example 1: Glass Jaw is hit by a packet for Agony. Glass Jaw calls "Avoid!" and proceeds to whoob-whoob-whoob her way away from the Agony thrower.

Example 2: A Fetch is hit with a packet for 5 Damage by Cold Iron in melee. Now, they have a Shield granted them by a friend, so they go to call shield--but then they remember Feybane, which states

"When struck by an effect X with the “Cold Iron”
trait you must call “Absorb to Double X and Short Agony.”
The only called defenses you may ever use against effects
with the Cold Iron or Faith traits are Avoid and Elude—the
universe seems to conspire against you where such things
are concerned and Parry, Shield, etc. will not work.

and he realizes he is a sad, sad fake-monkey.

Does that answer your question?

Addendum: all Fetch are sad, sad fake-monkeys, and I probably should have come up with a better line for that. Apologies all around.
So I'm still flip flopping on where to go with my character and I decided to look at Fixer. I'm curious as to why it's the only Specialization that costs more than 5cp? Also, why does Terminal User cost more for them? None of the Fixer's other skills cost different from the other Headers/Specialization that they mimic.
Game balance. A fixer is what we call a "hybrid." Sort of like the Incredible Amazing Spider-Hulk. ((https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQeeQjdU2Bk at 1:10 or so, for reference)).

If you can, go with the Italian. If you are physically incapable, "Rap-ah-chin-ee-en" is acceptable.

I have a question on the Fetch vulnerability that's been bugging me. How long is the Short Agony intended to last? Short modifiers require 10 seconds of rest to purge the effect but, otherwise, the effect is made to last till the end of the event. However, Agony interrupts resting. I think this ends up in an infinite loop unless a separate 0 Point skill is created to allow one to rest off Short Agony specifically?

Agony does not interrupt resting.

Got it! So it's the initial application that interrupts rest as you are taking an offensive effect and then you can go spent 10 seconds resting to get rid of it. Thanks for the clarification!

...No. Nothing external interrupts Rest. Much like only you can prevent forest fires, only you can interrupt your own Rest. It's sort of odd, but given that you're Resting while Dead, Resting while being thwacked with a board with a nail in it makes as much sense as anything.

You get hit? Resting.
You try to block? Not resting.
