While trying to uphold title of writer, I saw this bit done. Mr. Regean proves how the phrase "One Thing Led to Another" tends to open the gates for some entertaining conversations.

*Conversations such as these.*
So a few folks come up to cool their heels in Whisper Hills. One thing Led to Another and They end up Blowing Up a Manson Belonging to the Local Gangland Element.

A few concerned citizens took an interest in the local lore to break up their boredom. One thing led to Another and now Avatars of Nature and The Pit stop in on the regular to enlighten us.

One night, the new faces in town sat down for a meal after getting to stretch their legs for a bit when the lights went out. One thing led to another and now The World may be teetering on the edge of Doomsday.

A couple of crazy kids slipped away from Big Brother and came to hide among all the other Lost Toys in Whisper Hills. One thing led to another and The Battle of Gettysburg with high explosives and Walking Bio-Weapons broke loose.

These... these are beautiful.

Some out of towners started an sightseeing tour (for entertainment purposes only), and one thing led to another and they wound up getting mauled by cannibal monsters and infected with a taste for long pork.

One afternoon, some folks stopping by a local island played a game of Capture the Flag. One Thing Lead to Another and now the seasons can only change when violent and bloody conflict occurs.

A clutch of do-gooders attempted to collect diesel fuel for a generator, and One Thing Lead to Another and a drunken veteran wound up getting turned into cold cuts on repeated occasions.

You could also add in after each of these examples "Well that escalated quickly." See:

One day some people figured out how to start a nuclear reactor to power a town. One thing led to another and suddenly poison-breathing people showed up to kill them.

Well that escalated quickly.

It was just a friendly handshake. One thing led to another and now we've got a hideous weapon that breathes which was a gift from a demon.

It was just an old children's rhyme. One thing led to another and now everyone's screamingly insane and running away from a dead, eyeless girl.

It was just an effort to combat global warming. One thing led to another and now we're hiking....and hiking...and hiking...and still hiking.

Gus walks into a cave just to see what's going on, one thing led to another and he finds out who's blood is really on the stone; the answer was inside him all along!

...

What, too soon?
