On Photos

Hello friends! There were two groups of photos taken at AD1 that I want to address really quick:

1. Photos by Coco at check-in. Some people were curious as to why we were doing this, and with the hecticness of check-in there wasn't a lot of time to explain. These reference photos were just taken so we could match names to faces for various things at game (pointing people out to NPCs for hooking purposes, etc). These photos are not being used anywhere on the internet or anywhere outside of Occam's Razor.

2. Photos taken IG by plot. Camp Sargent asked us for photos of the event so they could show LARPing happening on site to other prospective LARPs. Some of these photos may be used for advertising. If you would like us to blur your face out of photos before sending them off to Camp Sargent, please PM Coco by September 18.

Thanks!

I have mixed feelings about this:

On the one hand AWESOME! Finally there will be a Bingo book to help ease along those pesky midnight mass murder raves!

On the other hand: I am now all but sure PC life expectancy just dropped by 65%.

Photo 1) Cool idea! I was wondering about that, but wasn't all that worried. The warrant in Quebec is lapsed (I think), so no one is looking for me

Photo2) I have to admit, In-game I was a bit paranoid and avoided the photos. I didn't want my soul taken. I know that's pretty South American Aborigine tribe of me, but hey, I'm into anthropology a little. Now that I know it's for promotional purposes, no worries.

Can we have copies of our own photos from the checkin? Mine came out awesome :)

Is there a "dossier' somewhere on each player with all of the "top secret" info about them collected in one place? their attendance, pels, whether they finished their Cheerios for breakfast... stuff like that....

Well, Staff has pictures of the players (taken for our Whisper Hill IDs), but individual 'reports' on players are all up to the players themselves.

A certain group to which I may be a part keeps extensive notes, as do some others (there are a number of private investigator characters, as well as paramilitary and corporate entities that would do the same).

To be honest, the best way to learn all the *~secrets~* is to camp out on these wonderful forums like an obsessive psychopath.

Something I would know absolutely nothing about.

uh huh - what he said. about online/the forums (but also the subtext which is 'what? someone *better not* be keeping dossiers! I mean, no one would be... right?')

The forums are a good resource to get a feeling for characters. If you enjoy that sort of thing (I do), online roleplay can be a great place to allow your character to 'breathe', to develop a feeling for other characters, and also to establish who your character is. I have never played a game with people who are so good at establishing character - both online and also when game is on. In-game I haven't met anyone who has shut down a question of 'who are you and what do you do?' - but, maybe that's because I'm fairly good at demanding overtly and/or covertly interaction with others.

Even if you are shy - or your character has 'issues' (which, of course, *none* of us do) - just plant yourself close enough to a group of people and you are bound to hear great stuff. We're all so new to this 'world' that we are openly exploring each other as well as expressing who we are as we try to find where we fit.

Anyhow, enough babble - I'll just add welcome :)
