Occams Razor

So having received my first request to change someone's forum name, I'd like to propose the following.

I can hack the forum a bit so that instead of the username you use to log in, it displays your primary character's name (assuming you have one). Logging in would still work the same, so it'd just be for display purposes.

Is this something people would be interested in? Obviously people that put their character name as something they wouldn't want public can change that, or I could add a separate field for a character's public name.

If the option to not have our character name displayed is possible, I don't mind the added benefit of having that as a possible display name.

I could definitely make it an opt-in system by adding a new checkbox to your forum profile.
Checked = use my character name
Unchecked = use my forum username

Especially when we start dealing with an IC forum, I would very much prefer to be dealing with character names. It's going to be hard enough remembering those. Having to remember a character name, real life name and a Forum name can get bothersome

For Reasons I definitely need an opt-out option...
