Dallas had awoken early in the day to get a good run in. With her arm being in the state that it was, she really was not able to be as active as she wanted to be. She had attempted to go for a morning jog, but the heat was just wearing her out. It was not long before she found herself walking out to the edge of the lake. Clumsy, she took off her boots and socks so that she could feel the cool wet sand. She then slowly walked out on to the dock to find a comfortable seat. She sighed a loud sigh of relief as her feet dipped into the cool water. A soft smile rolled across her lips and she just let her eyes drift off towards the horizon.
"Your right Lou, it is so beautiful," she spoke to herself.
Her eyes did fall down to her arm that was still propped up with a sling. For most people, this problem would be a bad one. Not for Dallas. It just made her smile more. Yeah it hurt like nothing else, but it was doing something to help the locals of this place. The pain was all worth the happiness the little girl who own the cat was going to have when she made it home. Yes, it was embarrassing, but it did not matter. It finally felt like these people were understanding who she was and what it is she wants to contribute to their little community.
She just leaned back on her one good arm and gazed out over the water.
