Sally wades his way through the various moving parts of young ladies workin' and shares a few words with Gus. He makes a beeline for the door after just a few moments, eyes straight ahead, which is likely difficult, given the fact that he's got a boot on one foot and a trail running shoe on the other.

After a moment of lingering on the porch, Sally calls out, "Hey there, Janny, got that rake handy? It would appear that some damn punks 've sullied this fine es-tab-lishment's lawn."

Sally's arrival drew Alice's eyes like a moth to a flame, and she froze completely. Her face was blank as, mid-sweep, she watched him. When he brightened and addressed them, the spell seemed to break before their eyes. The corner of her mouth twitched into a small smile, and she ducked her head, quietly resuming her work. She seemed acutely aware of his presence though, shifting in her sweeping and dusting so that her body was angled towards him like a flower following the sun. As he and Gus spoke, she paused to consider, quirking her head as if listening, even though she was well out of earshot in the hustle and bustle. Her eyes closed and her lips moved, although no sound seemed to be coming out.

When Sally called out to Jan again, Alice shook her head back and forth violently. She blinked twice, looking momentarily dazed, before she continued sweeping as if nothing had happened, glancing occasionally out the window as she did.
