So what is a Terminal? Is it similar to hacking lite?

This in regard to the "Terminal User" skill?
That allows use of the hacking app, more details can be found
If you're asking about a different skill, I'd need to know which one to provide more help.

"A Terminal" is an interface that only hackers can us. We'll have computer applications that require Computer Use 1 or 2, and "Terminal Use".
It's basically broken down into:
Computer Use 1: You use a computer for work pretty regularly, can use basic applications and are adept at executing searches, etc.
Computer Use 2: You're likely at the Programmer/DBA/Sys Admin level. You know how PCs work and can likely do some minor programming.
Terminal Use: You can break into it, if you can crack the code. See Deeg's link.
System Use: You can send your Avatar into the System. This is a bit like Tron, the Matrix, etc. You have abilities there and can likely bring people with you.

Have the app, which I assume works similar to using a QR code or chip reader? So, Terminal User allows you to use the Terminal App, which is a more sophisticated version of the various 'Clue" components in the game? (i.e. Able to read cards with "Clue" written on it.)
And, though it doesn't say it in the rules, you need Computer Basic, at least, to have the Terminal skill?

It works with QR codes, yes. There's a brief walkthrough you can find . PM me direct if you have any issues or confusion with the app.
In game, there will be tags with QR codes and "Requires: Terminal User" on them, which can be scanned to retrieve bits of information.
While Computer Use may make sense for for a hacker, it is not a prerequisite for the Terminal User skill. Any prop related to one of these skills will list the required skills and as long as you meet those requirements, you're good to proceed.

Yeah. We decided not to couple the two.
Basically, Computer Use is all about using a computer normally. Terminal use is about using it abnormally. A hacker without both might find himself up in a problem area of being unable to use the information he just picked up without the appropriate skills to input said data into a Computer, but they're not required by the rules to actually have both.
