How modern are we?

When we're talking 'in-game' about modern stuff, is it okay to mention World of Warcraft or Minecraft, PAX, webcomics, LARPs, etc., things we really do have? Or would you prefer the obvious modern terms of hobbies we stay away from?

In theory most or all of those things exist in the ORniverse. That said, using them to break immersion is highly discouraged--talking about larping while at a larp that's taking itself and immersion seriously is a bit of a downer.

unfortunately, at least one person was texting at them game. Cell phone were very common at the game (including me) but I put it in Airplane mode.
