The winter drags on

Lou can be found anyone who looks for where work is to be done. Cleaning where he can, offering help to all. Trying his best to keep himself busy and his mind off of all the weird happenings. Lou had missed the recent dust up out side the cafeteria tent but word spread around the camp quickly. He felt that some of the camp's 'guests' were getting jittery and he redoubled his efforts to stay busy and helpful.

On this night he was working late, shoveling the snow that keep piling up. Most of the people at the camp, both staff and guest, were not from Coos and thus were experiencing their first 'north country winter'. The camp's staff did their best to upkeep the camp, but their effort was not full. Small shovel width paths were not gonna cut it for Lou. He wanted everyone to be as comfortable as possible.

With some effort and some 'rural politeness' Lou talked the guards into allowing him a shovel. Thankfully, in a camp full of government agents, trained assassins, heavy duty mercenaries and who knows what else, no one counted an out of work high school janitor as a danger. Lou was making his rounds on the paths, widening them were he could. He came to stop outside the group of dorm tents and planted his shovel into a snow bank. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lit one.

He surveyed the snowy paths and watched as the snow started to fall again. He let out a sigh, knowing that his hard work was going to be undone overnight. He grins after a moment, deciding that the falling snow was a comfort to him, a reminder that despite all the new comers and weirdness, New Hampshire hadn't changed any.
