Ted made his way through the men’s dormitory, Styrofoam cup and small book in hand. He chuckled to himself yet again about his situation--had he not had car trouble months ago, he would be in Berlin celebrating the morning Mass. Instead he had been given what he liked to call a “surprise vacation.” He often enjoyed the quiet mornings of the camp. With two other priests and such a small population of Catholics, he found he actually had time to sit down and read his book. He casually made his way over to his bed and after kicking off his slippers, sat back, sipped his coffee, and began to read the next chapter…
